Passion Pit is an electronic, psychedelic pop band from Cambridge, Massachusetts that formed in 2007. The quintet that makes up Passion Pit is Michael Angelakos on lead vocals and keyboards, Ian Hultquist on keyboards, Jeff Apruzzese on bass, Ayad Al Adhamy on synth and Nate Donmoyer on drums. They put out a debuted EP in 2008 called Chunk of Change which included the song Sleepyhead which was a hit at Emerson College where Angelakos studied at the time. The band was ranked #9 on the BBC's Sound of 2009. Earlier this year they released their debut LP, Manners, to rave reviews from critics in the US and the UK. ClashMusic.com slated it as a possible album of the year and 8.1 from Pitchforkmedia.com. They have opened for Death Cab For Cutie and Girl Talk and I believe they are playing Glastonbury this year as well as other summer festivals. If you are wondering what they sound like MGMT but more sophisticated, Cut Copy but a little louder, and Postal Service but way more funky!
